On Saturday, 22 April 2017, JP Duminy and the JP21 Project team hosted over 800 kids, including the KFC Mini Cricket teams, at the iconic PPC Newlands. The JP21 Cricket Festival was a great success with local celebrities and media kitting up for a great cause.
Nestled in the shadow of the majestic Table Mountain on a beautiful summer’s day in the Mother City, JP21 Project kids had the privilege of spending an entire day enjoying a cricket fest of fun on the exact pitch where their heroes play, PPC Newlands; “You can play here. You too can represent your country,” said JP21 Project founder and Proteas Cricket star, JP Duminy, to the eager young minds who hung onto his every word.
The highlight of the day was the JP vs Media match which took place to end of a perfect day of action-packed cricket. We’re not too sure who were the victors in this match, but that’s for the teams to battle it out. A big shout out to the celebrities and media personalities that pitched in and showed their support; Dane Peidt, Eddy Andrews, Shu-Aib Walters, Gasant Abardar, Dalin Oliver, Tammy B, Justin Ford and DJ Carlo.
We would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to our incredible sponsors and partners for their generous support; PPC, Adidas, Nutribullet, Peninsula Beverages, Western Cape Education Department, Pick n Pay and Western Province Cricket Association.
A special thank you to our teachers, parents, kids and staff. Without your hard work, dedication and commitment, the JP21 Project would not be the success it is today.
